I’m Seminat Oredegbe. I am passionate about helping people with communication disorders and working closely with them to improve their quality of life. I strive for continued growth and development through education and engagement within the community.
My desire to understand how the brain works and trace the importance of communication in society led me to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience from University of Lethbridge (2013). Researching career choices is an important part of life, but no amount of reading can compare to getting hands-on experience working with a Speech Language Pathologist. The opportunity to complete a summer job at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Speech and Hearing Department helped me to ensure that working in the health care environment is the best fit for me. During my time there, I learned the nuances of the role a Speech Language Pathologist plays in the community and the rewards of this career.
I completed my Master of Speech & Language Pathology at Curtin University, Perth Australia in 2016. I am a registered and active member of College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC).
