Jenny Decock-Hewitt Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi, I’m Jenny. I have been a speech-language pathologist since 2013. My desire to help people, combined with my love of languages and my interest in linguistics, led me into the field.

I received my education at the University of British Columbia. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Speech Sciences and later a Master of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences. After graduation, I worked with adult patients at Eagle Ridge Hospital and Ridge Meadows Hospital. After working in the hospitals, my husband and I moved to the south of France. While living in France, as part of the degree equivalency process, I had the opportunity to do externships across a range of settings with both adults and children. Since returning to Canada in 2016, I have been working with preschool-aged children in public health.

I speak both English and French. I am a member of the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC), Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC), Speech and Hearing BC, and Hanen. I am trained and certified in “It Takes Two To Talk” as well as “More Than Words.” I am also trained to administer the Lidcombe Program. I strive to always be learning in order to provide the best possible evidence-based service to my clients.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my miniature dachshund, Digger, and my friends. I also enjoy doing yoga, and I love to travel. I try to visit a new country every year!

I am excited to be joining the Sunrise team! I look forward to helping clients and their families reach their communication goals.
